What does a 21st century classroom look like?
To me a 21st century classroom is electronically based. By the end of the 21st century students will no longer be using books and handwriting essays. Students will have laptops and iPad’s instead of textbooks. I think that students thrive on using technology and eventually they will not be able to get away from it. Students will be copying notes from a PowerPoint instead of a blackboard, and when I say copying notes I mean typing notes. This why as future teachers we need to become well trained with technology. This is how we will be expected to teach in the future.

Amber,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you thoughts on what a 21st century classroom looks like. It's really amazing how everything we grew up with (chalkboards and textbooks) are being replaced with technology. I also agree that it is important for us to be well trained in using this technology especially since the younger generations are growing up with the skills to use it and we as the older generation are starting late learning all this technology in order to work with it and the students.
Amber,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more on what you are projecting 21st Century classrooms to become. As we look around at the students today, it's amazing at how well they understand technology and its benefits. As future educators, this means becoming technologically savvy. However, with all these technological advances, I hope to keep some of the "old fashion" teaching styles around(books, journals, hands-on-learning) things of that nature.
